Overview

      Germany is loacated in Central Europe just south of Denmark; it's coordinates on the map are 51 00 N and
 9 00 E .  Known as western Euope's richest, most populous nation,  Germany has many different ethnic groups. The different groups of people consist of Germans, Italians, Russians, Greeks, Tukish, Polish, and Spaniards. The religions  that are practiced in Germany are: protestant, roman catholics, and muslim. The language spoken is German. Germany's natoinal holiday is called "Unity Day". This day is observed on October 3. Germany's enviromental status as of today is very poor. There is lots and lots of polution that is causing problems with the air quality and forests.
 

History

    In 1949, after the cold  war,  Germany was seperated into two different states. The first state was the Weatern Federal Republic of Germany, the second state was the  Eastern German Democratic Republic. Then in 1990 Germany unified. January, 1999 Germany and ten other EU countries formed a EU currency, the euro.

• Other Cities: Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Munich.
• Landforms:  Borders the Baltic Sea and the Nort Sea.
• Neighbors:  Austria, Belgum, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, and Switzerland.
• Climate:  The climate is temperate and marine; cool, and cloudy. They have wet winters and summers; and occasional warm foehn wind.

Currency: Deutsche mark was the curency; as of 1999 the euro was itroduced and  is still the currency till  this day.

• Labor force breakdown:  Industry 33.4%, agriculture 2.8%, services 63.8% (1999).
