Overview
Denmark is a very interesting country with many intricate defining qualities. Starting with there seperation from there own territories they still hold up a good government and hold a very intense soccer team. And a very interesting veiw on todays people including felens, the people views of life in Denmark is much more friendly then in the U.S. Also Denmark has had a remarkable history going through a complete rebirth within 50 years

History
Denmark has had a very controversial history. An interesting fact was how in 1940 Denmark was the only country in WW2 to save all of its Jews from extermination. Later following this Denmark lost many of its Territories. Starting in 1944 Iceland declared its independence from Denmark, also losing the Faeroe Islands in 1948. Since then Denmark has been having disputes over the Faeroe Islands.

The Great Transformation
Throughout the years of 1864 and 1901 Denmark went through a complete mutation. Life in 1901 was indistinguishable the population made a dramatic increase, and life had made a turn towards the better. The Education act of 1814 made everyone much more intelligent aware of diet, hygiene, and basically whiped out illiteracy. The past living customs were annihilated, gettin rid of the rank system and turned into a product and income society.
The past systems peasant society divided into farmers smallholders and laborors, and in the towns consumer relations were introduced, which led to paid workers and buisinessmen. Women still did not have political rights as men. New legislation granted them more rights in the 19th century where many gained employment in the service sector.

Current Event
Summary:
In the article "A cell with a view: New Design for the State Prison" by Rebecca K. Engmann she discusses how Denmark's new prison system is so controversial. Recently in Denmark the Arhus architectural of Friss and Moltke won a juried competition for the designing of a new state prison. The ultra modern prison will have the pleasure of living in dormitories comparable to college dorms, each including its own bathtub and toilet. The designers believe that roughing up inmates are not effective, they believe they should have room to develop, and at least not get any worse. The new design that the Arhus architectural of Friss and Moltke are going for is a whole new breed of prisons.

My Opinion:
In my opinion the article "A cell with a view: New Design for the State Prison" has many genius ideas. I think that the new design of a prison with more human living customs is mandatory. I recently saw a prison riot occurring in Europe, and I believe that if this system was set up years ago that riot wouldn’t of happened. The idea of treating Prisoners with respect and having them grow into a model citizen it genius, this way it is more of a rehabilitation center than a prison with guards and pain. I think that the U.S. should start construction on prisons like these as soon as possible, and possibly prisons themselves can dwindle.

World Cup Information
My prediction for the World Cup Champions would be Argentina. The Argentinian team is absolutely incredible, Currently they are placed at 2nd in the Tournament. There team is full of all stars from the goalie German Burgos won the South American Supercopa in 1997. From the goalie to the midfielders this team is fit to win the World Cup.
