History of Canadian Lacrosse
Lacrosse, now a game
celebrated and played almost worldwide was originated from one of the oldest
sports in the Americas. The game was
first invite by Native Americans and was thought to be a type of training for
war. In fact the Cherokees called the
sport “The little brother of war”. Even
thought Native American played the game it is nothing like the game now a
days. George Beers wrote the original
rules in 1856. Beers became know was
“The father of lacrosse,” But more recent events in lacrosse occur almost
daily. Some of the events are the CLA (Canadian
Lacrosse Association), Indoor, and Differences.
The CLA is in charge of setting up matches between numerous teams
in Canada and is the lacrosse version of the MLA here in America. Often CLA games are televised and played
in America because it is the only official league outdoor league.

Indoor lacrosse has been around 1930. This version of lacrosse is know as “boxla”
and is made up of 6 man teams. The old
style of playing however has been change many times and is still being added
to.
