In India there is a constitition
that provides FREE education for children from ages 6 through 14. Almost
all Indian children receive school, only half of those 10 years of age
or older continue their education. There are several reasons why most children
drop out of school. Some children leave school because their parents make
them go to work on the family farm.Other children have to get jobs to support
their families, or are needed to stay at home with the smaller children.
Illiteracy is a major problem
in India. Since about 1950 the government has spent much money on training
teaching, publishing schoolbooks, and buliding schools. As a result to
this, litreacy rates have improved, and school attendance has increased
substantially. ( Half of india's adult population still cannot read or
write.)
My Opinion On INDIA'S SCHOOLS Is...
I DON'T think I would want
to go to school In INDIA. My reason Is ... I don't feel that I would get
enough from the teachers In INDIA, and I would learn the same where I'
am now.
I also would understand what
they are saying because I don't speak their language. Now on the other hand
If I spoke the language I think I would understand and might think about
getting my education In INDIA.(If It was my last resort.)
