The odds and ends of  the Warming

~Precipitation has increased over land in high altitudes of the northern hemisphere
~Snow coverage has decreased in the Northern hemisphere since 1987
~Evaporation has increased over the last 20 years in most parts of the world
~in recent decades cloud coverage has increased
~El Nino has effected atmospheric/ oceanic circulation
~There are no sustained trends in the climate changes
~Droughts have been more frequent in past years
~Since 1988 increases in extreme extra tropical cyclones have been found
~In recent decades there have been less extreme temperatures recorded
~There is less day to day variation in temperatures
~The sea level has been rising at a rate of 1 to 2 mm/year
~Different countries will be effected in different ways
~Africa is the most likely to suffer from the climate changes
~Deserts are expected to grow in size
~Australia is one of the largest green house gas polluters.
~Heating a home with traditional electric heaters during winter can create up to 14 tones of greenhouse gas pollution (CO2) per year
~In the space of 1 year, a 20 watt long-life light bulb produces about 600kg less greenhouse gas (CO2) than a 100 watt traditional light bulb
