The F/A-18 Hornet is a two-seated, dual engine tactical aircraft designed to carry out both air-to-air and air-to-ground tactical missions. It is put to use in the Navy and Marines, it is also used in the Canadian Air Force. It was designed to be easy to use in switching from fighter to strike mode and back, "almost as easy as flipping a switch." This plane was used as the main Strike-Force fighter in Operation Desert Storm. It is a low maintenance craft which makes aircraft which makes it very cost-effective. A very fast machine, the Hornet's two engines deliver about 36,000 pounds of combined thrust. It uses an accurate laser system which allows it to fire on target heat seeking rockets.
Canada was the first country to purchase the F/A-18 Hornet, it now owns the most, 138, Hornets outside of the US. The Model was built by Boeing, the engine was provided by General Electric, and the radar was provided by Raytheon Manufacturers.
The Final variation of the F-111 Aardvark, though it is not as capable in avionic terms as the other F-111 variants, it still flies effectively in the skies as a fighter. These planes were built with dual 20-mm Vulcan cannons (which were never used in test flights and practices). They are outfitted with sidewinder missiles and Paveway guided bombs for their personal protection. This Model is becoming outdated, there are only 84 surviving models in the world which will be retired in 2010. They will then be upgraded and supplied with modern technology.
There are two versions of this attack helicopter, with the radar which is called the Apache Longbow, and without the radar which is just called the Apache. Considered the next generation of fighters, the Apache is an all purpose attack craft. it carries a lethal array of missiles and rockets, 1,200 rounds of ammunition for it's 30mm M230 automatic cannon. This wonder was designed and built by Boeing Company. next year America expects to be able to pay for 48 of these making up 2 battalions forces, very deadly. All of the technicians and pilots are being trained right now to operate the force when it comes to exist. To give an example of this model's deadly capabilities, when it's 6 prototypes were made, they proved deadly when sent testing sites and eventually to the battlegrounds. "Key US Army officers characterized the Apache Longbow's performance as the quintessential example of how the US Army will dominate the digital battlefield of the 21st century."
